Most typing sites drill you on shuffled common words. TypeCram gives your fingers something worth spelling: short plain-language science stories and classic public-domain books. Your speed grows the same way, but every session also leaves something in your head.
Four ways to practice
Classic is straight typing on a real text with live speed and accuracy. Rhythm turns the same text into falling piano-tiles you strike in time. Race is multiplayer: one link, up to 20 people, same text, first to the end wins. Cinema plays the story as a scene while you type it.

What you actually type

Common questions
Why practice typing on real texts instead of random words?
Random-word drills train finger patterns, but every sentence you type on TypeCram also says something: a short science story or a passage shaped from a classic book. You cannot skim a sentence your fingers have to spell, so the content sticks while your speed grows.
Is TypeCram free?
Yes, TypeCram is free to start: you can type texts, race friends, and take the first chapter of the touch typing course on a free account. A paid Plus tier ($5/month) removes the daily limits and unlocks the full course.
Can I practice typing with friends?
Yes. Create a race lobby, share one link, and up to 20 people can type the same text against each other in real time. Friends you invite can join a race before signing up.
Does TypeCram teach touch typing from zero?
Yes. The Learn section is a 30-lesson touch typing course that starts at the home row and finishes at full-text typing. The first chapter is free.
